Mei Semones was introduced to jazz during school and studied guitar at the Berklee College of music. The Brooklyn-based artist builds on her singular blend of jazz, bossa nova, samba, grungy math rock, and bilingual English-Japanese songwriting, turning inward to explore growing up, difficult memories, fleeting joys, and everyday moments.
